When you enter a maze place a pet at the entrance of the maze so you can door/gate/nexus back to it or hunt your pet to return to entrance of maze. I think one of the spells above may not work with pets I didn't check, I just heard someone say this in the mud.
When your in Xyl's Mosaic and in the ether rose maze you hunt rubber to find your way out. As always most maps have detailed info to figure out mazes.
